Abstract

This study aims to analyze work enthusiasm as a mediating variable in the influence of leadership and communication on employee performance at the Lelateng Village Office, Negara District, Jembrana Regency. The population of this research includes all employees at the Lelateng Village Office, totaling 50 individuals. The sampling technique used was the saturated sampling method, in which the entire population was included as the sample, resulting in 49 respondents (excluding the Village Head). The analysis results indicate that: (1) leadership has a positive and significant effect on work enthusiasm; (2) communication has a positive and significant effect on work enthusiasm; (3) leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; (4) communication has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; (5) work enthusiasm has a positive and significant effect on employee performance; (6) leadership has a positive and significant effect on employee performance through work enthusiasm; and (7) communication has a positive and significant effect on employee performance through work enthusiasm at the Lelateng Village Office, Negara District, Jembrana Regency. This study suggests that the Village Head at the Lelateng Village Office should strengthen leadership practices, enhance communication, and improve employees’ work enthusiasm.
